Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CAV-033 is an antibody-biologic conjugate (ABC) developed by Cavalry Biosciences that targets the muscle-specific insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor (IGF-1R). By delivering a biologic payload directly to skeletal muscle, the drug aims to activate anabolic signaling pathways to promote muscle growth and maintenance while minimizing systemic side effects. It is currently in discovery-stage development for various muscle-wasting conditions, including Facioscapulohumeral Muscular Dystrophy (FSHD), Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), sarcopenia, and muscle loss associated with obesity or GLP-1 receptor agonist treatment.
