Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**CAVACURMIN** is an oral highly bioavailable curcumin formulation developed by Wacker Chemie that complexes curcumin from *Curcuma longa* with gamma-cyclodextrin to improve intestinal absorption and systemic exposure versus conventional curcumin powder or turmeric extract. It is positioned primarily as a nutraceutical or dietary supplement ingredient rather than a regulated pharmaceutical, and has been investigated clinically for benign prostatic hyperplasia with lower urinary tract symptoms, cardiovascular risk or inflammatory biomarkers, and other inflammation-related settings. Its pharmacology is that of a small-molecule phytochemical formulation with pleiotropic anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects, including reported modulation of pro-inflammatory cytokine signaling such as interleukin 6 and tumor necrosis factor alpha, but without a single validated drug-like primary target established for the branded formulation.
