Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Cavilon Durable Barrier Cream is a topical skin barrier and moisturizer formulated to protect at‑risk skin from moisture-associated damage (e.g., incontinence-associated dermatitis) and to hydrate severely dry skin. It is a concentrated, wash-off–resistant barrier cream that is CHG-compatible, allows tapes and dressings to adhere, and is designed not to clog briefs or diapers. The formulation employs silicone-based emollients (e.g., dimethicone) and humectants (e.g., glycerin) supported by polymer technology (acrylate terpolymer) to reduce transepidermal water loss, repel irritants, and reduce friction and shear at the skin–fabric interface.[9][8][7] According to consumer drug references, Cavilon Durable Barrier is categorized under topical emollients/dimethicone products and is used to treat or prevent skin irritation and diaper rash.[1][2]
