Overview

CAY-10746 is an investigational small molecule Rho kinase (ROCK) inhibitor developed for the treatment of glaucoma and ocular hypertension. Formulated as an ophthalmic solution (eye drops), it works by inhibiting the Rho-associated protein kinase enzymes (ROCK1 and ROCK2), which are involved in regulating the cytoskeleton and contractile properties of the trabecular meshwork cells. Inhibition of ROCK leads to increased aqueous humor outflow through the trabecular pathway, effectively lowering intraocular pressure (IOP). CAY-10746 has been evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials to assess its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics in healthy volunteers, as well as its efficacy in reducing IOP.
