CAY10500 is a small molecule inhibitor of tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) signaling that specifically prevents the binding of TNF-α to the TNF receptor 1 (TNFR1). In experimental models of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), CAY10500 has been shown to reduce TNFR1 expression, decrease serum alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) levels, and improve survival. It also enhances the expression of nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) and heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1), suggesting a role in modulating antioxidant pathways. It is primarily utilized as a research tool for investigating TNF-α-mediated biological processes and potential therapeutic interventions in cancer and inflammatory diseases.
