CB-ChMF-11 is a cell-free biologic consisting of a conditioned medium derived from healthy term human placenta-derived mesenchymal stem cells (hPDMSCs). Developed by Corion Biotech (also known as Corinca), it is being investigated for the treatment of preeclampsia. The product contains a complex mixture of secretome components, including cytokines and other factors naturally produced by placental mesenchymal stromal cells, which are intended to reduce maternal hypertension, systemic inflammation, and endothelial dysfunction. Preclinical proof-of-concept studies have demonstrated that CB-ChMF-11 can reverse hypertension and proteinuria in animal models of preeclampsia. The drug received orphan designation from the European Union in 2021.
