CB03-154

CB03-154 is an investigational small molecule drug developed by Shanghai Zhimeng Biopharma for the treatment of epilepsy and focal epilepsy. It acts as a highly selective and potent opener (agonist) of KCNQ2/3 (Kv7.2/Kv7.3) voltage-gated potassium channels in neurons. By activating these channels, CB03-154 stabilizes neuronal membrane potential and reduces neuronal excitability—mechanisms believed to underlie its anti-seizure effects. Preclinical studies demonstrated that CB03 exhibits high selectivity for KCNQ2/3 with minimal activity on other ion channels or neurotransmitter receptors. In clinical trials (Phase 1 completed; Phase 2 ongoing), it is being evaluated as an add-on therapy for adults with focal epilepsy who are resistant to current antiepileptic drugs. The drug is administered orally.
