Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CB06-036 is an orally active, potent and selective small molecule agonist of toll-like receptor 8 (TLR8), developed by Zhimeng Biopharma for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B. It induces cytokine production in human peripheral blood mononuclear cells to activate antiviral immune responses through multiple immune mediators. Preclinical studies indicate that CB06-036 has favorable liver-targeting properties. The drug is currently in clinical development with ongoing Phase 1 and Phase 2 trials for chronic hepatitis B in China. In February 2023, Zhimeng Biopharma entered a licensing agreement with GlaxoSmithKline for further development, manufacturing, and commercialization of CB06-036 for hepatitis B virus infection[1][2][4][8].
