CB1R ASO Isis-414930 is an antisense oligonucleotide (ASO) designed to specifically target and inhibit the expression of the cannabinoid receptor type 1 (CB1R) mRNA. By binding to the coding region of the CB1R gene, this ASO reduces CB1R mRNA levels in peripheral tissues such as adipose tissue and kidney. In preclinical studies using diet-induced obese (DIO) AKR/J mice, treatment with ISIS-414930 led to significant reductions in body weight gain, body fat mass, plasma insulin and leptin levels, improved glucose homeostasis and insulin sensitivity, decreased liver steatosis, and reduced expression of genes involved in lipid metabolism. The drug was developed by Ionis Pharmaceuticals for potential use in metabolic diseases such as obesity and type 2 diabetes[1][2].
