Overview

**CB5064** is a mitochondrially encoded peptide developed by CohBar as the basis for analogs targeting metabolic and inflammatory diseases. It acts as an agonist of the apelin receptor (APJ/APLNR), promoting effects such as body weight reduction, improved glucose tolerance, and insulin sensitivity in preclinical models of diet-induced obesity. Analogs have also demonstrated efficacy in reducing lung fluid accumulation, neutrophil infiltration, and pro-inflammatory cytokines in models of acute lung injury and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), including COVID-19-associated ARDS.[1][2][4][7]
