Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**CBD Daye Tampon** is a Daye menstrual tampon product consisting of an organic cotton tampon coated with a proprietary, THC-free hemp-derived cannabinoid extract in which cannabidiol is the principal stated active constituent. The product is inserted vaginally for menstrual care and has been studied for symptomatic relief of primary dysmenorrhea, including menstrual cramps and pain. Daye describes a proposed local mechanism involving endocannabinoid signaling in vaginal and uterine tissues; however, definitive target engagement and clinical efficacy for therapeutic use remain insufficiently established. A randomized, single-blinded, placebo-controlled study involving 63 participants was published for cannabidiol-infused tampons in primary dysmenorrhea. FDA cleared the underlying Daye Tampon for menstrual-fluid absorption under 510(k) K223883, but FDA subsequently warned that the CBD-coated product and its therapeutic claims constituted an uncleared major modification and lacked the required marketing authorization for that intended use.
