Overview
CBD TPM Capsules is a proprietary oral soft-gel formulation of cannabidiol (CBD) developed by Avecho Biotechnology for the treatment of insomnia. The formulation utilizes Avecho's proprietary Tocopheryl Phosphate Mixture (TPM) drug delivery system, a Vitamin E-derived technology designed to enhance the solubility and oral bioavailability of lipophilic drugs like CBD. By improving absorption, the TPM system aims to provide consistent therapeutic levels of CBD, potentially overcoming the variability associated with standard CBD oils. The drug is currently in Phase III clinical development in Australia, representing the largest randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study of its kind evaluating CBD for insomnia. Avecho aims for the product to be the first pharmaceutical CBD medicine registered with the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) as an over-the-counter medicine. In March 2025, Avecho entered into an exclusive 10-year licensing agreement with Sandoz for commercial rights in Australia.
