Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CBF-520 is a first-in-class investigational small molecule drug developed by Caliway Biopharmaceuticals for the reduction of subcutaneous fat. Administered via local injection, the drug is designed to selectively trigger apoptosis (programmed cell death) in adipocytes at the injection site. This mechanism allows for the effective reduction of localized fat deposits without causing tissue necrosis, inflammation, or significant systemic side effects. CBF-520 is being explored for both aesthetic fat reduction and therapeutic applications in conditions involving abnormal fat accumulation.
