CBG131 is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy designed to target Claudin 18.2 (CLDN18.2), a tight junction protein that is frequently overexpressed in gastrointestinal malignancies such as gastric and pancreatic cancers. The therapy involves the genetic modification of a patient's own T cells to express a CAR specific to CLDN18.2, enabling the immune system to recognize and eliminate tumor cells expressing this antigen. Developed by the First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University, CBG131 is currently being evaluated in Phase I clinical trials to assess its safety, tolerability, and preliminary efficacy in patients with advanced CLDN18.2-positive gastric or pancreatic cancer.
