Overview

CBI-3A is a novel virus-like particle (VLP) vaccine adjuvant developed by Clarus Biologics. It is designed as a platform technology to enhance the efficacy of both licensed and experimental vaccines by mimicking the innate immune signals of a naturally occurring viral infection. CBI-3A stimulates the adaptive immune system, promoting antigen-specific mucosal IgA, IgG, and T-cell responses, even when administered via non-mucosal routes. Preclinical studies in multiple species, including non-human primates, have demonstrated its ability to significantly elevate immune responses. The company is currently planning a Phase 1 clinical trial for CBI-3A in combination with a commercial influenza vaccine.
