Overview

CBI-7261 is a novel, potent, and selective small molecule antagonist of the Oxoeicosanoid Receptor 1 (OXER1), developed by Liminal BioSciences. OXER1 is a G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) that is highly selective for 5-oxo-eicosatetraenoic acid (5-oxo-ETE), a potent human eosinophil chemo-attractant. By blocking OXER1, CBI-7261 aims to inhibit the recruitment and activation of eosinophils, which play a central role in the pathophysiology of allergic, inflammatory, and proliferative diseases. The therapeutic focus for this compound includes eosinophil-driven conditions such as asthma, atopic dermatitis, and eosinophilic esophagitis. As of early 2024, the program is in the preclinical development stage.
