Overview

CBL-B inhibitor is an oral small molecule therapeutic candidate being developed by Dr. Reddy's Laboratories and its oncology-focused subsidiary, Aurigene Oncology, for the treatment of multiple solid tumors. The drug targets Casitas B-lineage lymphoma proto-oncogene B (CBL-B), an E3 ubiquitin ligase that serves as a critical intracellular immune checkpoint. CBL-B negatively regulates the activation of T cells and natural killer (NK) cells; its inhibition is intended to lower the threshold for immune cell activation and prevent the induction of T-cell anergy within the tumor microenvironment. By 'removing the brakes' on the immune system, this small molecule aims to enhance anti-tumor immunity and potentially overcome resistance to traditional cell-surface checkpoint inhibitors. The program is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
