Overview

CBM-851 is a small molecule inhibitor of the KCa3.1 (intermediate conductance calcium-activated potassium) channel, currently in preclinical development by Cellion BioMed for the treatment of atopic dermatitis. As a member of the CBM-Nx/Fx series, CBM-851 is designed to modulate KCa3.1 activity to increase local concentrations of adenosine and cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP). This biochemical shift is intended to produce downstream anti-inflammatory, anti-fibrotic, and antioxidant effects, addressing the underlying immune dysregulation and skin barrier dysfunction associated with atopic dermatitis.
