Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CBM-901 is a small molecule inhibitor of the KCa3.1 (intermediate-conductance calcium-activated potassium) channel, currently under development by Cellion BioMed. KCa3.1 plays a critical role in the activation and proliferation of various immune cells, including T cells, B cells, and macrophages, as well as in the activation of fibroblasts. By inhibiting this channel, CBM-901 aims to exert anti-inflammatory and anti-fibrotic effects. The drug is primarily being investigated for the treatment of autoimmune and inflammatory conditions, with its lead program focused on Rheumatoid Arthritis, where it has reached Phase 1 clinical development.
