CBM-951 is a preclinical small molecule inhibitor of the KCa3.1 channel (Intermediate conductance calcium-activated potassium channel protein 4), developed by Cellion BioMed. Part of the CBM-Nx/Fx series, it is being investigated for the treatment of autoimmune and inflammatory conditions, specifically Rheumatoid Arthritis and Multiple Sclerosis. The drug's mechanism of action involves the inhibition or modulation of KCa3.1, which leads to increased local concentrations of adenosine and cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP). This biochemical shift results in anti-fibrotic, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant effects. Cellion BioMed has conducted development in partnership with DtaCRO and Preclina.
