Overview

CBN-1100 is an investigational gene therapy vector developed by Carbon Biosciences. It is designed to deliver genetic material systemically, with a demonstrated transgene packaging capacity of up to 5.9 kilobases—over 1 kilobase more than conventional adeno-associated virus (AAV) vectors[3][4]. Preclinical studies in nonhuman primates have shown that CBN-1100 is well-tolerated at high doses, with no significant cytokine response observed at the highest tested dose[1]. The vector’s enhanced packaging capacity may enable delivery of larger or multiple therapeutic genes compared to standard AAV-based therapies.
