Overview
CBP-174 is a highly selective, peripherally acting antagonist of the histamine H3 receptor (H3R), developed as an orally administered small molecule for the treatment of pruritus (itch) associated with allergic and inflammatory skin diseases, including atopic dermatitis. It is designed to not penetrate the blood-brain barrier, thereby minimizing central nervous system side effects. Preclinical studies demonstrated rapid reduction in scratching behavior in animal models within 30 minutes of dosing. Phase 1 clinical trials showed that CBP-174 was safe and well-tolerated in healthy adults, with no serious adverse events or dose-limiting toxicities observed[2][4][5][7].
