CBT-007

CBT-007 is a chemical drug being developed as an eye drop formulation to improve the success rate of glaucoma filtration surgery (GFS). GFS is a surgical procedure used to lower intraocular pressure in patients with glaucoma, but its long-term effectiveness can be compromised by post-surgical scarring and fibrosis, which block fluid drainage. CBT-007 is intended for use as adjunct therapy with mitomycin C (MMC), potentially allowing for reduced MMC dosage and associated complications. The drug targets key pathogenic pathways involved in GFS failure, specifically inhibiting vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and fibroblast growth factor (FGF) signaling pathways.
