Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CBT-358 is a small molecule modulator of the Transient Receptor Potential Melastatin 8 (TRPM8) channel, currently in preclinical development by Cloudbreak Pharma for the treatment of dry eye disease. TRPM8 is a cold-sensing ion channel expressed on corneal sensory nerves; its activation is known to regulate basal tear production and blink frequency. CBT-358 is formulated using Cloudbreak's proprietary SFA+ delivery platform, which utilizes semifluorinated alkanes to enhance the solubility and ocular surface residence time of the drug. The candidate is being investigated for both aqueous-deficient and evaporative forms of dry eye.
