Overview
CHANK-101 (also known as CBT101) is an autologous natural killer (NK) cell therapy developed by CHA Biotech. The therapy involves isolating NK cells from a patient's peripheral blood and expanding them ex vivo using a proprietary manufacturing process that enhances their number and cytotoxic activity. These activated NK cells are then re-infused into the patient to leverage the innate immune system's ability to recognize and eliminate malignant cells through the release of cytotoxic granules and the induction of apoptosis. CBT101 is primarily being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials for the treatment of various solid tumors, including glioblastoma and other advanced cancers, often in the adjuvant setting following curative surgery to target residual disease and prevent recurrence.
