Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CC-486 + durvalumab is a combination therapy consisting of oral azacitidine (CC-486) and durvalumab. CC-486 is an oral DNA hypomethylating agent that modifies DNA to promote normal cell growth or cell death. Durvalumab is a monoclonal antibody that blocks programmed cell death ligand-1 (PD-L1), potentially allowing the immune system to better detect and eliminate cancer cells. The combination was designed to enhance immune response against immunologically \"cold\" solid tumors by combining epigenetic modification with immune checkpoint inhibition.
