CC-90002 is a humanized monoclonal antibody that targets the cell surface antigen CD47. By blocking the interaction between CD47 and SIRPα, it disrupts the "don't eat me" signal used by cancer cells to evade macrophage-mediated phagocytosis. This mechanism enables immune cells to recognize and destroy tumor cells, conferring both phagocytosis-inducing and antineoplastic activities. The drug was developed for hematologic malignancies such as acute myeloid leukemia (AML), myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), multiple myeloma, non-Hodgkin lymphoma, and solid tumors. Clinical development included phase 1 studies in these indications; however, trials were discontinued due to lack of monotherapy activity and evidence of anti-drug antibodies[1][2][3][4][6].
