Overview

CC-90011 + carboplatin + etoposide is a combination regimen tested in clinical trials for the treatment of advanced cancers, specifically in first-line, extensive stage small cell lung cancer (ES SCLC). CC-90011 is an oral, potent, selective, and reversible inhibitor of lysine-specific demethylase 1 (LSD1), an epigenetic regulator that influences gene expression related to tumor cell growth and neuroendocrine differentiation. Carboplatin and etoposide are established chemotherapeutic agents widely used in the treatment of small cell lung cancer, with carboplatin functioning as a platinum-based DNA crosslinker and etoposide as a topoisomerase II inhibitor causing DNA strand breaks. The combination seeks to leverage the antitumor activity of epigenetic modulation by CC-90011 in conjunction with DNA-damaging chemotherapy to improve outcomes in extensive stage small cell lung cancer[2][6]. Clinical development included assessment of safety, tolerability, and maximum tolerated dose.
