CC-JEV

CC-JEV is an inactivated whole-virus vaccine developed by StarBio for the prevention of Japanese encephalitis. The vaccine is produced using Vero cell culture technology, where the Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV) is grown, harvested, and subsequently inactivated to ensure it cannot cause disease while remaining immunogenic. Upon administration, the vaccine elicits a protective immune response, primarily through the induction of neutralizing antibodies against the Japanese encephalitis virus. It is currently approved for use as a prophylactic measure against JEV infection, which is a leading cause of viral encephalitis in Asia.
