Overview

CC2006 is a circular RNA (circRNA) vaccine candidate developed by Shanghai CirCode Biomed for the prevention of COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2 infection). Utilizing the company's proprietary circular RNA platform, CC2006 consists of a covalently closed loop of RNA that encodes the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein. This circular architecture provides significant advantages over traditional linear mRNA, including increased stability against exonuclease degradation and a longer half-life within cells, which may lead to more durable antigen expression and a more potent immune response at lower dosages. CC2006 is designed to elicit both neutralizing antibodies and T-cell responses to protect against infection. The program is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
