CCHFmAb127 is a monoclonal antibody being developed by Mapp Biopharmaceutical and its commercial subsidiary, LeafBio, for the intramuscular (IM) prophylaxis of Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF). CCHF is a severe, tick-borne viral disease caused by the Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever virus (CCHFV), characterized by high fever and hemorrhaging, with a case fatality rate of up to 40%. CCHFmAb127 is designed to provide passive immunity by binding to and neutralizing the virus, thereby preventing infection in individuals at high risk of exposure. The candidate is currently in the lead candidate/IND-enabling stage of preclinical development.
