Overview

**cCHP-E7** is an investigational intranasal therapeutic vaccine for **HPV16-related cervical cancer**. It encapsulates a modified HPV16 E7 oncoprotein antigen in cationic cholesteryl-group-bearing pullulan nanogels that adhere to nasal mucosa and support gradual antigen release. In the studied vaccine formulation, cCHP-E7 was administered with cyclic di-adenosine monophosphate as a mucosal adjuvant. Nasal administration induced HPV16 E7-specific CD4-positive and CD8-positive T-cell responses in cervicovaginal tissue, reduced tumor growth in an orthotopic mouse cervical-cancer model, and induced persistent reproductive-tract T-cell responses in macaques. The program remains at the preclinical research stage. ([science.org](https://www.science.org/doi/pdf/10.1126/scitranslmed.ado8840))
