Overview

CCL198-83 is a small molecule antagonist of the C-C chemokine receptor 7 (CCR7), currently under investigation for the treatment of T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL). CCR7 expression in pediatric T-ALL is associated with the migration of leukemic cells into the central nervous system (CNS), where the disease can find sanctuary from systemic chemotherapies. By inhibiting CCR7, CCL198-83 aims to limit CNS entry and potentially prevent the recycling of leukemic cells through the CNS. Preclinical studies presented at AACR 2023 demonstrated that administration of CCL198-83 during leukemogenesis doubled the mean survival rate in a murine model of T-ALL, extending it from 45 to 90 days.
