CCL7 neutralizing antibodies are biologic agents designed to target and inhibit the activity of C-C motif chemokine ligand 7 (CCL7), also known as Monocyte Chemoattractant Protein-3 (MCP-3). CCL7 is a potent pro-inflammatory chemokine that recruits various immune cells, including monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells, by binding to the G protein-coupled receptors CCR1, CCR2, and CCR3. In preclinical research, these antibodies have been utilized to investigate the therapeutic potential of blocking CCL7-mediated signaling pathways. Studies have demonstrated that neutralization of CCL7 can mitigate synovial inflammation and M1 macrophage polarization in rheumatoid arthritis models, prevent the recruitment of osteoclast precursors in colorectal cancer bone metastasis, and inhibit the migration and invasion of oral squamous cell carcinoma cells. By disrupting the CCL7-CCR1-JAK2/STAT1 axis and other related pathways, these antibodies serve as critical tools for exploring the role of chemokines in chronic inflammation and tumor progression.
