Overview

CCR4 antagonist (Aurigene) is a small molecule antagonist of the C-C chemokine receptor type 4 (CCR4) being developed by Aurigene Discovery Technologies. CCR4 is a G protein-coupled receptor primarily expressed on regulatory T cells (Tregs) and Type 2 helper T (Th2) cells. In oncology, the drug aims to block the migration of immunosuppressive Tregs into the tumor microenvironment, thereby enhancing anti-tumor immune responses. In allergic and inflammatory conditions such as atopic dermatitis and asthma, it is designed to inhibit the infiltration of Th2 cells into affected tissues, reducing allergic inflammation. The program is currently in the preclinical stage of development and is part of Aurigene's broader immuno-oncology and inflammatory disease portfolio.
