CCR4 IT is a diphtheria toxin-based recombinant immunotoxin developed as a potential therapeutic drug candidate for refractory and recurrent cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL). This immunotoxin is designed to specifically target cells that highly express the CC chemokine receptor 4 (CCR4), a cell-surface marker found on malignant T lymphocytes in CTCL. By binding to CCR4, the immunotoxin delivers a cytotoxic diphtheria toxin moiety directly to these cells, leading to their death. Preclinical studies have demonstrated its efficacy in targeting CCR4+ tumors and regulatory T cells (Tregs).
