Overview

CCT301-38 is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor T cell (CAR-T) therapy in which a patient’s own T lymphocytes are genetically modified using a lentiviral vector to express a CAR targeting the receptor tyrosine kinase AXL. The therapy is designed for immunomodulatory and antineoplastic activity by redirecting T cells to recognize and kill tumor cells expressing AXL. It has been developed primarily for the treatment of relapsed or refractory AXL-positive sarcomas and renal cell carcinoma. The product was originally developed by F1 Oncology (now EXUMA Biotech), with further development involving BioAtla, Shanghai PerHum Therapeutics, Fudan University Zhongshan Hospital, and Shanghai Sinobioway Sunterra Biotechnology[1][2][6]. Clinical trials have reached up to Phase I/II in renal cell carcinoma and Phase I in sarcoma; however, these studies have been terminated or discontinued as of late 2024[2][5].
