CCT68127 is a preclinical-stage, orally active small molecule inhibitor of cyclin-dependent kinases 2 and 9 (CDK2 and CDK9), currently under development by Cyclacel Pharmaceuticals. The compound exerts its antitumor effects through multiple mechanisms, including the inhibition of MYCN transcription, induction of anaphase catastrophe—a cancer-specific cell death mechanism—and the promotion of apoptosis. Preclinical studies have demonstrated significant efficacy in KRAS-mutant lung cancer and MYCN-amplified neuroblastoma models, where it reduces tumor burden and improves survival. It is primarily used for research purposes and has not yet entered clinical trials.
