CCX915 is a small molecule drug developed by ChemoCentryx as an orally available antagonist of the C-C chemokine receptor type 2 (CCR2). Its mechanism of action involves selectively inhibiting CCR2-mediated migration of inflammatory white blood cells, which is implicated in the pathogenesis of inflammatory diseases such as multiple sclerosis and other neurologic disorders. By targeting CCR2 with high specificity, CCX915 was designed to avoid some undesirable side effects associated with traditional immunosuppressive therapies. The drug reached phase 1 clinical trials for multiple sclerosis but development was discontinued[1][3][4].
