CD13 nanoCAR circular RNA is an experimental in situ CAR T-cell therapy being developed by Citil Pharma for the treatment of Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). The therapeutic consists of circular RNA (circRNA) encoding a CD13-directed chimeric antigen receptor (CAR), encapsulated within lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) that are surface-functionalized with CD8-specific nanobodies. This delivery system specifically targets CD8+ T cells in vivo, where the circRNA is translated to transiently express the CD13 CAR. These engineered T cells then recognize and eliminate CD13-positive leukemia cells. By generating CAR T cells directly within the patient's body, this approach aims to overcome the logistical and manufacturing challenges associated with traditional ex vivo CAR T-cell therapies.
