Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CD147 CAR is a Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR) construct engineered to specifically target the CD147 antigen, which is frequently overexpressed in various types of cancer. This CAR is designed to be introduced into immune cells, such as macrophages (CAR-M), to redirect their specificity and enhance their anti-tumor capabilities. In studies, CD147 CAR-M has demonstrated potent anti-tumor activity against cancer cell lines (K562 and MDA-MB-231) through mechanisms like phagocytosis, while showing no off-target cytotoxicity towards normal cells. This innovative approach holds promise for cancer immunotherapy, particularly for both hematologic malignancies and solid cancers.
