CD180 chimeric antigen receptor T-cells refers to a type of adoptive cell therapy where a patient's own T-cells are genetically modified to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) specifically designed to recognize and bind to the CD180 protein (also known as RP105) found on the surface of certain cancer cells. This genetic engineering involves introducing DNA into the T-cells to produce the CAR. Once modified, these CAR T-cells are expanded in vitro and then reinfused into the patient. The CAR T-cells then identify and attack cancer cells expressing CD180, aiming to eliminate the malignancy. This therapy is currently under investigation for relapsed or refractory CD180-positive hematologic malignancies, including Acute Myeloid Leukemia and B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia/Lymphoma.
