Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CD19-BAFF Bicephali CAR-T cells is an autologous, multi-target chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy developed by Shanghai YaKe Biotechnology in collaboration with Zhejiang University. Utilizing YaKe's proprietary "Bicephali" multi-targeting platform, these CAR-T cells are engineered to target both B-lymphocyte antigen CD19 and B-cell activating factor (BAFF). This dual-targeting approach is designed to specifically deplete B cells and block survival signals, thereby addressing antigen heterogeneity and preventing antigen escape. The therapy is currently being evaluated in Phase I clinical trials for the treatment of refractory autoimmune diseases, including systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), systemic sclerosis, dermatomyositis, immune nephritis, and neuromyelitis optica, as well as B-cell malignancies such as B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL) and B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (B-NHL).
