Overview

CD19-BCMA CAR-T is an investigational autologous bispecific chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy designed to target both CD19 and B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA). Developed by Ting Chang, MD, this therapy is specifically being evaluated for the treatment of refractory generalized myasthenia gravis (gMG). By targeting CD19, which is expressed on B cells, and BCMA, which is expressed on long-lived plasma cells, the therapy aims to comprehensively deplete the cellular sources of pathogenic autoantibodies (such as AChR, MuSK, and LRP4 antibodies) that drive the symptoms of myasthenia gravis. It is currently being studied in a Phase 1 dose-escalation trial (NCT06371040) to determine safety, maximum tolerated dose, and preliminary efficacy in adult patients who have failed standard treatments.
