CD19 CAR-UiNK cells are a novel, hypoimmunogenic, chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)-engineered natural killer (NK) cell product derived from human embryonic stem cells (ESCs). These cells are genetically modified with a B2M knockout to prevent HLA-I expression, thereby evading allogeneic T-cell responses, and ectopically express HLA-E to suppress allogeneic NK cell attacks. They also express a CD19 CAR, enabling specific targeting and robust cytotoxic activity against CD19-positive tumor cells. Developed by researchers at the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Jinan University, CD19 CAR-UiNK cells are being investigated as a universal, off-the-shelf cellular therapy for B-cell malignancies.
