CD19-CD8-tLNP is an innovative *in vivo* CAR T-cell therapy candidate developed by WestGene Biopharma. It utilizes a CD8-targeted lipid nanoparticle (tLNP) platform to deliver mRNA encoding a CD19-directed chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) directly to CD8+ T cells within the patient's body. The LNPs are functionalized with an anti-CD8 VHH (nanobody) to ensure selective uptake by T cells. Once delivered, the mRNA is translated, leading to the transient expression of CD19 CARs on the T-cell surface, which then target and deplete CD19-positive B cells. This "off-the-shelf" approach aims to eliminate the need for complex *ex vivo* cell manufacturing, lymphodepletion, and long wait times associated with traditional CAR T therapies. In early clinical trials for relapsed/refractory B-cell lymphoma, the drug has shown rapid B-cell clearance and a favorable safety profile.
