CD19 RPM CAR-T is a chimeric antigen receptor T cell (CAR-T) therapy engineered to target CD19, a protein expressed on most B-cell malignancies. Unlike conventional CD19 CAR-T products, CD19 RPM CAR-T uses a novel binding epitope and receptor design, resulting in altered antigen engagement. This design aims to improve therapeutic responses and reduce T-cell exhaustion. The product involves collecting the patient’s own T cells, genetically engineering them to express the RPM-based CAR recognizing CD19, expanding the modified cells, and infusing them back into the patient. It is under investigation for relapsed or refractory B-cell non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and potentially other B-cell malignancies. Early trials have shown high complete response rates at higher dose levels, with manageable safety profile including cytokine release syndrome and immune-cell-related neurotoxicity[2].
