CD19-targeting CAR T cells (Fuda Cancer Hospital) is an autologous, second-generation chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy developed for the treatment of B-cell malignancies. The therapy involves the ex vivo genetic modification of a patient's own T lymphocytes to express a CAR specific for the CD19 antigen, a surface protein consistently expressed on B-cell lymphomas. Upon re-infusion, these engineered cells recognize and bind to CD19-positive cells, triggering T-cell activation, proliferation, and the targeted destruction of the malignant B cells. It is currently being investigated in clinical trials for patients with relapsed or refractory B-cell lymphoma.
