CD19 UCARTcells is an investigational allogeneic (universal) chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy developed by Shanghai Longyao Biotechnology for the treatment of B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL). The therapy consists of T-cells derived from healthy donors that are genetically engineered to express a CAR targeting the CD19 antigen, a protein highly expressed on the surface of B-lineage cells. As an "off-the-shelf" product, it aims to overcome the manufacturing delays and high costs associated with patient-specific autologous CAR-T therapies. It is currently undergoing Phase 1 clinical evaluation to assess safety, efficacy, and dose-limiting toxicities in patients with relapsed or refractory CD19-positive B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
