Overview

CD2027 is a topical formulation of calcitriol, the hormonally active form of vitamin D3. It has been investigated as an ointment and spray for dermatological conditions such as atopic dermatitis and plaque-type psoriasis. Calcitriol acts by binding to the vitamin D receptor (VDR), a nuclear hormone receptor, leading to modulation of gene expression involved in cell proliferation, differentiation, and immune response. Topical calcitriol is used for its anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects on skin lesions.
